Our Story
On the hills of ancient Potaissa, just a stone’s throw from Turda Salt Mine, ISSA Garden is a place where people stop for a good meal and often end up staying longer than planned.
The name ISSA began as a tribute to Potaissa. Today, it brings together centuries of winemaking tradition with millennia of history, gastronomy, art and equestrian excellence, sacred nature, and warm, welcoming people.
The restaurant was born in the heart of a patiently cultivated vineyard, from the desire to share with visitors the flavors, wines, and hospitality of Transylvania.
In the kitchen, traditional Transylvanian dishes are prepared with local ingredients and a respect for the flavors we know and love. Steaming soups, hearty dishes, and the famous black pancakes are served in a place where good things are meant to be tasted and shared.
Inside, shelves filled with ISSA wines tell the story of the vineyard and its award-winning wines, recognized at international competitions. Few meals are complete without a glass of wine, and many of our guests leave with a few bottles to rediscover at home.
On beautiful days, the terrace opens onto the surrounding hills and the energy of a place where birthdays have been celebrated, families have gathered, and conversations have carried on well into the evening. Some guests come after visiting Turda Salt Mine, others for the wine, the food, or the view. Most return for the way they felt while they were here.
ISSA Garden is a stop along the way, but it can easily become the destination for an entire day: a leisurely meal, a wine born on these hills, and time spent together in one of the most beautiful places on the ISSA Estate.

ISSA Garden is located on the ISSA Estate, on Aleea Durgăului, right next to Turda Salt Mine. You can stop by the restaurant before or after your visit, or stay overnight and explore more of the surrounding area.
What experiences are available in the ISSA Domain?
Near ISSA Garden, you can discover equestrian experiences, horse shows, sports activities such as padel and pickleball, as well as the ISSA SPA facilities. All of these are available at ISSA Resort. Availability, prices, and access conditions vary depending on the experience, and advance booking is recommended.
Can I make reservations for groups or events?
We’d be delighted to host group meals, birthdays, and special occasions. We also organize wine tastings for groups of more than 10 people.
